Llamau Fundraising Campaign Film
Shining a spotlight on the work LLamau do for young people & women facing homelessness in Wales.
We’ve worked alongside the team at Llamau on a number of projects over the years; from Fundraising Campaigns to Case Studies, helping to highlight just some of the vital work they do to help women & young people experiencing homelessness. A quarter of the children Llamau support have no qualifications at all & a large number will have dropped out of formal education at a young age. So for their Autumn appeal, when most children are heading back to school, Llamau wanted to highlight the work they do to assist young people who may have slipped through the net in the education system. We wanted to highlight the education services that Llamau provides, whilst also focusing on some of the issues the young people themselves may have, for example; being unable to tell the time, struggling to read & write, or a complicated home situation. All things most of us take for granted, but that can really hinder a young person's future.
We focused on the anxiety, fear & shame that struggling with these problems can cause a young person. We filmed the majority of the footage handheld, with fast cuts mirroring the physical signs of anxiety & panic being shown on screen. Commissioning a voiceover artist to bring the whole film together, to drive home the urgency of situation. The result is a film which clearly shows viewers just how vital their donations are in allowing Llamau to help these young people to move forward with their lives.
Following on from the success of the Autumn campaign, we were commissioned by the marketing department to produce a Christmas fundraising film, to help those women and children who find themselves homeless during this particularly challenging time of the year. Not experiencing just the loss of a phyical home to call their own, but the heartbreak of being away from family and friends during this family-orientated time of year is especially traumatic. This simple, one scene advert, tracking a homeless young woman through the lonely streets of Cardiff, as she sees families preparing for the festive period in their warm & cosy homes, drives home the importance of Llamau even more. If you’d like to donate to one of their campaigns, please find more information here.
